About the JA 1 double sided wood burning stove
At 1100 mm wide and only 580 mm high, the JA 1 stretches the fire into a horizontal band of light. The 190 kg steel body heats roughly 120–140 m², and the 580 mm depth suits a partition wall between a living room and a dining area. A Ø 200 mm flue outlet connects to a standard masonry or steel chimney.
Compared with its sibling, the more upright JA 2, this model trades height for width, so it works best where the fire is seen from a sofa rather than from across a lobby. For dealers, the JA 1 double sided wood burning stove is an easy upsell for architects and renovation clients planning a see-through opening. Ask for the dimensional drawing and our wall-opening guidance before quoting a project.
Named after the two-faced Roman god of beginnings, Janus fireplaces open the fire to two rooms at once — a striking centrepiece for open-plan homes, lounges and hotel lobbies.
The JA 1 is part of our Janus collection, where you can compare every size and finish side by side.
JA 1 double sided wood burning stove – frequently asked questions
How large an area can the JA 1 heat?
The JA 1 is rated for about 120–140 m². The real figure depends on insulation, ceiling height, room layout and local climate, so a well-insulated home may need less and an old stone house more. Send us the floor plan and we will help you confirm the right model.
What flue diameter does the JA 1 need?
The JA 1 has a Ø 200 mm flue outlet. Before installation, a qualified installer or chimney sweep should check the chimney’s condition, height and draft, and confirm clearances against local building rules. Test reports and declarations for relevant standards (e.g. EN 13240, EN 13229) are available on request.
Can the JA 1 be customised under our own brand?
Yes. We offer OEM and private-label options including your logo, RAL colour, door, handle and leg designs, log store or oven modules where the body allows, custom packaging and multilingual manuals. Tell us your target market and we will propose the changes that make sense for the JA 1.
What is the MOQ, sample policy and lead time for the JA 1?
We keep trial MOQs low and the JA 1 can be mixed with other models in one container. Samples ship by sea or rail, with the cost credited against your first container. Standard models usually leave the factory 30–45 days after deposit, after 100 % pre-shipment inspection with photo reports.
Which test documents are available for the JA 1?
Test reports and declarations for relevant standards, such as EN 13240 for freestanding stoves or EN 13229 for inset appliances, are available on request for qualified models. Importers should check the rules of their market, for example the EU Ecodesign regulation. Tell us where you sell the JA 1 and we will confirm which documents apply.
