Janus Double Sided Wood Burning Stoves
A double sided wood burning stove shows the fire from two sides at once, so one stove can warm and light two rooms or both ends of an open-plan space. Our Janus collection is named after the Roman god of doorways, who looks in two directions — a fitting name for a fire with two faces.
Why choose a double sided wood burning stove
With glass on both sides, the flame becomes the centrepiece of the room rather than something tucked into a corner. Janus stoves are built from heavy steel with a refractory-lined firebox. Primary and secondary air control and an airwash system keep both panes of ceramic glass clear, so the view stays clean from each side.

Where Janus fits best
Janus works wherever two spaces meet: between a living room and a dining area, in a chalet lounge, in a hotel lobby or a restaurant that wants a signature feature. Because the fire is visible from both sides, it often becomes the reason guests choose a seat. Our guide to a double sided fireplace between two rooms covers wall openings, flues and clearances. In new-build projects, Janus can also be planned as a room divider from the start.
Choosing a model in the collection
The JA 1 is the wide, panoramic option: 1100 × 580 × 580 mm, 190 kg and a heating area of 120–140 m². Its long, low firebox suits room dividers and wide openings. The JA 2 is more compact at 700 × 650 × 600 mm and 195 kg, with a heating area of 100–150 m², and fits narrower walls or smaller open-plan homes.
Both models use a Ø 200 mm flue. As with any double-sided installation, the chimney draft and the layout of both rooms should be checked by a qualified installer before the order is placed.
Notes for distributors and project buyers
A double-sided stove is a high-impact display piece in a showroom and a natural upsell for customers renovating open-plan homes. Janus models can be mixed with other collections in one container and are available under private label, with custom RAL colours and branded packaging. Spare parts such as gaskets, glass and vermiculite panels are available for after-sales service. Test reports for relevant standards are available on request for qualified models.
